3 Signs of Black Widow Spiders in Arizona1. Spider web located near the ground, frequently at the base of the house where stucco starts.
2. Leaves and other debris stuck in the web, and the web doesn't completely break. 3. Spider Web that makes a crackling sound. Try running a stick through the web, if it makes a slight crackling sound, it's definitely a Black Widow nest. |
What to expect from spider treatments
Spiders are actually a lot like scorpions when it comes to treatment. Spiders and scorpions are technically not insects. They actually belong to the Arachnid class. The most important take-away from this fact is that they don't behave like insects. Most insects self-groom; they clean themselves with their legs, resulting in pest control products spreading all over their bodies and ultimately killing them. Spiders and scorpions on the other hand, do not self-groom. This is why in many cases (there are some exceptions like tight cracks) scorpions and spiders can walk over pesticides unharmed; regardless of the pesticide type or concentration. We have found that the most consistent way to eliminate spiders and scorpions is to get the product directly on their bodies. Like scorpions, spiders can be frequently found hiding in cracks and crevices. By injecting products into these harboring areas, we have great success with spider and Black Widow pest control.
